Guardians of Liberty Looking to Launch Campus Charters at FSU, UF, and UCF

When you think of the future of Florida, it’s impossible not to think about the young men and women walking across our university campuses every single day. They are the next innovators, leaders, educators, entrepreneurs, and public servants who will shape the direction of our state for generations to come. At Guardians of Liberty, we believe those students deserve more than a diploma. They deserve the tools, networks, and real-world opportunities to put their passion into practice—and to leave a mark that outlives their time in the classroom.

That’s why we’re launching an exciting new initiative: Campus Charters at Florida State University, the University of Florida, and the University of Central Florida.

These aren’t just student clubs. They’re incubators for leadership, civic engagement, and lifelong skills that will help ambitious students thrive no matter where their careers take them. And right now, we’re looking for dedicated student leaders ready to take the first step.

Why Campus Charters? Why Now?

Florida is at a crossroads. From skyrocketing property taxes to government overreach, from mandates that restrict individual freedom to the need for better accountability in how our state spends your hard-earned tax dollars—there’s no shortage of issues directly impacting the lives of everyday Floridians.

Young people feel these pressures too. Rising costs of living, uncertain job markets, and political dysfunction are challenges that don’t wait until graduation to affect them. If anything, students face these challenges with fewer resources, less experience navigating government systems, and often, fewer opportunities to make their voices heard.

Campus Charters create a bridge between classroom learning and real-world action. They give students the chance to organize, advocate, and practice civic engagement on the issues that matter most to them and their communities. By connecting with Guardians of Liberty, these charters also plug students directly into a statewide network of advocates who are committed to restoring liberty, transparency, and accountability in Florida.

Why FSU, UF, and UCF?

Florida is home to dozens of excellent universities, but we chose to begin this journey with Florida State University, the University of Florida, and the University of Central Florida for three simple reasons:

  1. Size and Reach – These three universities represent the largest student bodies in the state. Combined, they account for hundreds of thousands of bright, motivated students who can help ignite a movement for change.
  2. Geographic Spread – With FSU in Tallahassee, UF in Gainesville, and UCF in Orlando, we’re creating a triangle of influence that covers the state’s political, academic, and economic centers.
  3. Momentum and Tradition – These schools already have strong traditions of student leadership, civic involvement, and academic excellence. Launching Campus Charters here isn’t starting from scratch—it’s building on existing energy and channeling it toward action.

What It Takes to Start a Charter

This is where you come in. Guardians of Liberty is looking for dedicated student leaders who are ready to step up and make history on their campuses.

Launching a charter doesn’t take thousands of members or a mountain of cash. What it requires is commitment, vision, and a willingness to work with others who share your passion for liberty and accountability.

To get started, you’ll need:

  • At least 9 other like-minded students who share your drive and are ready to put in the work.
  • A commitment to leadership—not just in name, but in practice.
  • The courage to stand up for what you believe in and the persistence to keep going even when it’s not easy.

If you can bring those things to the table, Guardians of Liberty will equip you with the resources, mentorship, and support to succeed.

The Benefits of Starting a Charter

You might be asking: Why should I start a Campus Charter? What’s in it for me?

The answer is simple: launching a charter isn’t just about making a difference on campus—it’s about investing in yourself.

Here are some of the benefits:

1. Leadership Development

Running a charter puts you in situations where you’ll have to lead, inspire, and organize others. You’ll learn how to motivate peers, handle challenges, and stay focused on a common goal. These leadership skills aren’t just useful on campus—they’re the kind of skills employers look for in every industry.

2. Public Speaking

Whether it’s presenting a petition, speaking at a rally, or simply running a meeting, you’ll get hands-on practice in public speaking. For many students, this is a game-changer. The ability to confidently communicate your ideas in front of others will serve you for life, whether you’re pitching investors, teaching a classroom, or running for office.

3. Civic Engagement

Starting a charter makes you more than just a student—it makes you a citizen-leader. You’ll gain firsthand experience in advocacy, policy discussions, and grassroots organizing. You won’t just read about civic engagement in a textbook—you’ll live it.

4. Networking Opportunities

Charter leaders and members will connect not only with each other but also with Guardians of Liberty’s statewide network. This opens doors to internships, career opportunities, and lifelong friendships with people who share your values.

5. Personal Growth

At the heart of it all, starting a Campus Charter will push you outside your comfort zone. You’ll learn what you’re capable of, discover your voice, and gain confidence that will carry into every part of your life.

Real Change Starts with Students

Florida has always been a state shaped by its people. Our communities thrive when individuals take ownership of their future instead of waiting for government to do it for them. Campus Charters continue that proud tradition—putting power in the hands of students who are willing to take action.

History is filled with stories of young people who stepped up and made a difference long before they wore a cap and gown. From grassroots movements to groundbreaking innovations, students have always been at the forefront of change. That same spirit lives today in the students walking the halls of FSU, UF, and UCF.

The truth is, real change doesn’t start in the halls of Congress or the offices of Tallahassee bureaucrats. It starts in living rooms, coffee shops, and yes—college campuses—where small groups of committed people decide enough is enough and take action.

Why We Need You

Here’s the bottom line: we can’t do this without you.

Guardians of Liberty can provide mentorship, resources, and support. We can help amplify your voice and connect you with leaders across the state. But at the end of the day, it’s students—people just like you—who will carry the torch on your campus.

If you’ve ever looked around your university and thought, Someone needs to do something about this, let me be clear: that someone is you.

If you’ve ever dreamed about making a difference, building a movement, or leaving your campus better than you found it, this is your opportunity.

And if you’ve ever wanted to sharpen your leadership skills, grow your confidence, and set yourself apart in ways that truly matter—this is the moment to step up.
